Lorain County's Young Author's Conference
On May 12th, 2015, 40 students from Forestlawn and William Barr Elementary Schools participated in Lorain County's Young Authors' Conference. In order to attend the conference, students needed to write a story and demonstrate exemplary written works within either of the following themes: "When Stories Come To Life" or "Everyone's a Character." Sheffield students competed against other fourth and fifth grade writers and illustrators from around Lorain County. The following students were finalists in their respective categories:

Best of Show, Writing, fifth grade: Nura Afenah
Best of Show, Illustration, fifth grade: Rayne Magnasco

Brookside Athletic Hall of Fame
On Friday, May 22nd the Brookside High School Athletic Hall of Fame will induct three new members into the list of athletes honored.  They are Eric Wagner, Tom McSheffrey, and Dave Anderson.  All three are outstanding examples of student/athletes and alumni of Brookside High School...(cont.) 
Dear Community Partner:
You are cordially invited to the ribbon cutting of your new school on Wednesday July 8th at 4pm.  This celebration will mark the beginning of great things to come at the new Brookside High School and Brookside Middle School. We will meet in front of the new building near the main entrance.  Please join us for light refreshments, building tours and an historical reading.  
Changes to School Calendar
The last day of school for our elementary students will be on Friday May 29th.  Grades 6-12 will attend on Monday June 1st for half a day.  Please check the individual schools websites for more details as they become available.

The NCSSA serves as our substitute teacher management provider, responsible for recruitment and employment of certified substitutes for our district. If you are interested in becoming a substitute teacher for Sheffield-Sheffield Lake City Schools, please submit an application with the NCSSA.
