My name is Brent Schremp and I can't express how excited I am to be the Principal of Brookside High School and Brookside Middle School. I attended Sheffield-Sheffield Lake schools from kindergarten through graduation from Brookside in 1991. I received my bachelor's degree from Slippery Rock University in Sociology and a minor in Psychology, where I also received a scholarship to play basketball. I came back to Sheffield Lake and worked for Lorain County Juvenile Court as a general probation officer for two years. I was then promoted to intensive probation where I worked with high risk, felony offenders for four years. I also began coaching high school basketball as an assistant when I returned from college. I decided to go back to school because I wanted to become a teacher and someday lead a boys program as the head coach. I received my teaching license through Ashland University and accepted a teaching position at Summit Academy in Parma working with Asperger and ADHD students for three years. After my second year at Summit I was hired to be the head basketball coach here at Brookside and a year later was hired to teach Social Studies. I taught at Brookside for five years while also completing my administrative license from Ashland University. I was the assistant principal at Sheffield Middle School for one year and worked as the high school assistant principal for one year. I am now in my third year as the Principal of Brookside High School and Brookside Middle School.

It is truly an honor to be the principal of our beautiful state of the art facility in the district that I grew up in and graduated from. I am excited to work alongside our assistant principals, Mrs. Joy Morgan and Mr. Jim Patrizi. I am also grateful to have the opportunity to work with the excellent, hardworking staff members of BHS/BMS and to further work with our great community that I am proud to still be a resident of, along with my wife, Jessica, and our two daughters Lily (8) and Violet (7). It is my goal to be very visible and accessible to all involved in our district and also be highly interactive with the students. We are prepared for another excellent school year and can’t wait to further prepare all of the students to be successful 21st century learners. Thank you and please contact me should you have any questions or concerns.
