track 2019 BHS Track Season
2019 BHS Track Season will begin on Monday, March 4, 2019.  Practice will begin at 3:00PM until 5:00PM everyday.  A more detailed calendar will be available the first week of practice.  Forms will be available in the main office for those who were unable to attend the meeting.  If you have any questions, please Coach Barhorst, Landis, or Ruble.

The Lorain County Public Health Department reminds you that before a student can enter 12th grade they must have received a dose of the Meningitis vaccine after the age of 16. See your medical provider or make an appointment with the Lorain County Public Health Department to get the vaccines your student needs. Call 440-284-3206 for an appointment.

From The Director of Selective Service
Every year, more than two million men turn 18 years old and are required by federal law to register with the U.S. Selective Service.  They may also submit their registration when they turn 17 1/2 years old, however, failing to register before turning 26 years of age will cause them to lose benefits for life that are essential for their future success.  Research has shown that those who neglect to register after turning 18 are more likely to never register at all.  Registration at 18 provides young men with access to college student loans and grants; job training programs; all Federal, U.S. Postal, many State government and contractor positions; and access to citizenship.  Simply put, 45 seconds online at SSS.gov can save a man 45 years of headaches and heartaches. See Mrs. Blaseg in the Guidance Office if you have any questions.

Student Drug Testing Program
The attached is a policy adopted by the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake City Schools Board of Education on Monday, September 28th regarding random student drug testing. 
Important Information regarding State of Ohio Assessments
Please see the following attached letter and schedule regarding important information concerning the required state testing that ALL students will take in April and May.  The State of Ohio requires the students participate in these assessments as part of their graduation requirements.   
register Preschool & Kindergarten Registration - April 10th

Registration for preschool and kindergarten students will be held at Knollwood School.

We will be holding a registration on April 10th from 9-11am, 1-3pm and 5-7pm.  Please remember, your child must be age 5 on or before August 1st to enroll in Kindergarten.  If you are Open Enrolling your child, you must apply for Open Enrollment at the Board Office and be approved before you can register your child.  Once you have your approval letter for open enrollment, call the school office at 440-949-4234 to make an appointment to register your child.

Kindergarten:

Knollwood offers full day Kindergarten and ½ day Kindergarten. Full day Kindergarten gives our children twice the exposure to reading, language arts, and math skills which will help them for their lifetime. We hope that you will take advantage of this added opportunity.  Cost will be $2,000.00 and is payable monthly with a $200 deposit due at registration. Fee waivers are available for families who qualify.

Half day kindergarten is tuition free, however there will be a one-time school fee for workbooks, supplies, etc. payable in the fall. 

The hours for the all-day Kindergarten is 8:20am-3:20pm and ½ day hours are 8:20am-11:20am.

Preschool:

Knollwood Elementary will also be offering half day preschool. Preschool is tuition based and the cost is $1,500.00 for the year payable monthly with the first payment of $150.00 due at registration. Second payment will be due September 1st with the rest of the payments due on the 1st of every month through May. There is no school for preschool students on Wednesdays. Preschool hours are 8:20am-11:20am & 12:20pm-3:20pm.

What to bring on the day of registration:

* Child's birth certificate

* Shot records

* A signed Lease Agreement, Rental Agreement, Mortgage Statement or Purchase Agreement (choose one)

* 2 proofs of residency: Utility bills (water/gas/electric/cable), Homeowner's insurance statement/bill, Property tax bill, Recent paystub and

* Custody papers if they apply

* You will need to bring your first payment if you're signing up for 1/2 day Preschool or full day Kindergarten
